In this section, Benvolio is a comedic figure because he "makes light of Romeo's suffering." As a result, option (c) or (iii) is the proper response.

Why is Benvolio a comic figure?

Benvolio's name means "good-will" or "well-wisher" or "peacemaker," which he plays to some extent as a peacemaker and Romeo's friend.

Benvolio is trustworthy in addition to being a peacemaker. Following the brawl in the town square, Benvolio informs Lord and Lady Montague of everything that has occurred. He does not twist the story to favor one side or the other but instead provides an accurate account.
