A sentence is a group of words that:

  • expresses a complete thought
  • begins with a capital letter
  • ends with a period, question mark or exclamation mark
  • generally contains a subject and a predicate, that includes the verb

Since In the morning, just before sunrise fails to achieve all these items, it is a fragment.
