1. The filing phase-- Filing the notice of appeal.
2. The transferring of the trial court's record right to the appellate court.
- Filing the briefs
- Presenting the oral arguments
- The appellate judges deliberate who will prepare the written opinion
6. The judges then decide to uphold, reverse, modify, or remand their decision to the lower court.
