the ratio of math students who use mechanical pencils to those that use regular pencils is 3/5 if 432 students use mechanical pencils how many students use regular pencils?

m=mechanical; r=regular

Set up a proportion.

\(\frac{3m}{5r} = \frac{432m}{r}\)
432*5=2160
2160/3=720

So the answer is 720 people :)
