Which epic characteristic is used in this excerpt from the Iliad by Homer?

Then thus the king: “Shall I my prize resign

With tame content, and thou possess'd of thine?

Great as thou art, and like a god in fight,

Think not to rob me of a soldier's right.

At thy demand shall I restore the maid?

First let the just equivalent be paid;

Such as a king might ask; and let it be

A treasure worthy her, and worthy me.

The correct answer is option C) "starting in medias res". Starting in media res is a technique used to involve the reader  quickly since the begging of the story. This technique involves starting the story in the middle of the action when an important event takes place. By doing this, the reader would wonder what happened with the characters to be in that point before the story properly unfolds.
