The correct sentences are:
"Lyric poems express personal thoughts and emotions"
"Lyric poems are short and have a musical quality".

The second is less seen in modern times, but early lyrical poems which were followed by a lyre were sung as lyrical songs, way back in ancient Greece.

The correct sentences are:

"Lyric poems express personal thoughts and emotions"

"Lyric poems are short and have a musical quality".

Explanation:

Lyric poetry is a ceremonial type of poetry which expresses personal emotions or feelings, typically spoken in the first person. The term derives from a form of Ancient Greek literature, the lyric, which was defined by its musical accompaniment, usually on a stringed instrument known as a lyre. The lyric poem is separated from narrative and dramatic forms of poetry. It is compact and gives a subjective and emotional message from the poet to the proofreader adroitly.
