n-8=8, since it is subtract 8 you would do the opposite, witch is adding 8. So 8 and 8 cross out so n would be left, and what ever you do to one side you have to do to the other. So 8+8 is 16, n=16. You have to check your answer 16-8=8, witch is right so n=16
