(18/x)x=(100/150)x       - we multiply both sides of the equation by x
18=0.666666666667*x       - we divide both sides of the equation by (0.666666666667) to get x
18/0.666666666667=x 
27=x 
x=27

now we have: 
150% of 18=27

100%=18
50% is 18/2=9 so 50%=9
18+9=27
