Okay great question!

So since the numerator and the denominator are both even we know that 2 can go into each...So here is how I do it.

2, 4, 6 : 3

so the numerator is 3

\(\frac{3}{y}\)

now

28 divided by 2 is 14

so your denominator is 14

\(\frac{x}{14}\)

Final answer is

\(\frac{3}{14}\)
