Distance covered = (position at the end) minus (position at the beginning)

                             = ( 64 m  -  4 m )  =  60 meters

Time to cover the distance = 30 seconds.

Speed = (60 meters) / (30 seconds)

           = (60/30)  (meters/seconds)

           =    2 meters per second .
