\(d+ \frac{17}{2} =5 \frac{1}{3}\)
Subtract \(\frac{17}{2}\)
\(d=5 \frac{1}{3}- \frac{17}{2}\)
Common denominator  is 6
\(d= \frac{5*3+1}{3} - \frac{17}{2}\)

\(d= \frac{16}{3} - \frac{17}{2}\)

\(d= \frac{2*16}{2*3} - \frac{3*17}{3*2}\)

\(d= \frac{32}{6} - \frac{51}{6}\)

\(d= \frac{32+51}{6}\)

\(d= \frac{83}{6}\)

\(d=13 \frac{5}{6}\)
