Final answer:

Ardipithecus ramidus evidence for inhabiting Earth earlier than Homo habilis.

Explanation:

Ardipithecus ramidus was dated to about 4.4 million years ago (MYA) and was the first hominin species discovered in the Pliocene era. Scientists used various evidence to show that Ardipithecus ramidus inhabited Earth before Homo habilis:

  1. The forward position of the foramen magnum indicated bipedalism.
  2. The small upper arm bones suggested non-weight-bearing arms during locomotion.
  3. Characteristics like thin dental enamel and an opposable big toe supported a bipedal and quadrupedal movement hypothesis.
