Final answer:

Children age 12 and under should sit in the rear of the vehicle to minimize airbag impact during a crash.

Explanation:

Passengers age 12 and under should sit in the rear of the vehicle to protect themselves from airbag impact in case of a crash. Airbags deploy with considerable force and are designed to protect adults and older children. Placing young passengers in the rear reduces the risk of serious injury from airbag deployment.
