Final answer:

Selective exposure and selective comprehension involve paying attention to information that aligns with existing attitudes and beliefs. Experience plays a crucial role in understanding and remembering information.

Explanation:

Selective exposure and selective comprehension are psychological concepts where individuals tend to pay attention to and interpret information that is consistent with their attitudes and beliefs. This means they actively seek out information that aligns with their existing viewpoints and may ignore or dismiss information that challenges their current beliefs.

Through selective exposure, individuals choose media sources that reinforce their own opinions, leading to exposure mainly to information they already agree with. Selective perception involves filtering what is seen and heard to fit personal needs, often unconsciously, which can lead to a biased interpretation of information.

Furthermore, experience is crucial in understanding and remembering information as it engages action, making the learning process more active and memorable. Combining multiple engagement levels in studying a subject can enhance understanding, retention, and relevance to one's life.
