Final answer:

Computer generations refer to the stages of technological advancements in computers, with the third generation marking a significant advancement in integrated circuits.

Explanation:

Computer generation refers to the different stages of technological advancements in computers. There have been five computer generations each characterized by specific technologies:

  1. First generation: Vacuum tubes
  2. Second generation: Transistors
  3. Third generation: Integrated circuits
  4. Fourth generation: Microprocessors
  5. Fifth generation: Artificial intelligence and supercomputers.

The statement 'The actual use and implementation of computers started after the third generation' is justified by the fact that it was the third generation that introduced integrated circuits, leading to smaller, more reliable computers that were more widely used by businesses and individuals.
