Final answer:

The Gospel of Wealth emphasizes the responsibility of the wealthy to advance social progress and support the less fortunate in society.

Explanation:

The Gospel of Wealth is the idea that those with great power have a great responsibility to use their riches to advance social progress. This concept was put forward by Andrew Carnegie, who believed that the elite should help enrich society through philanthropy.

As a response to the harshness of Social Darwinism, Carnegie emphasized the importance of giving back and supporting the less fortunate in society. He donated millions to create public institutions, promote scientific research, and left the majority of his fortune for charitable purposes.

This concept contrasts with the notion of social inequality and underscores the idea that those in positions of power have a moral obligation to contribute positively to the betterment of society.
