Volume of a Cone = (1/3)(pi)(radius)(radius)(height)
we are given:
pi = 3.14
height = 6
Volume = 8(3.14)

plug in
8(3.14) = (1/3)(3.14)(radius)^2 (6)
8 = (1/3)
(6)(radius)^2   [divided both sides by 3.14]
8 = (2)
(radius)^2         [simplified (1/3)*(6)]
4 = (radius)^2             [divided 2 from both sides]
radius = 2             [square rooted both sides (sqrt(4))=2]

therefore the radius = 2 ft
