so, the formula is length times width divided by 2
so multiply 12 and 9
12*9 = 108
divide 108 by 2
108/2 = 54
 That formula ONLY WORKS ON TRIANGLES

area=bh/2
area=(9 x 12)/2
area=108/2
area=54 cm sq.
