Answer: his interest in futurism
Nazim Hikmet was a Turkish poet, playwright, novelist, screenwriter and director. He was well-known because of the lyrical flow which became a signature mark of his poems. His experimental, avant-garde style was most likely inspired by his interest in futurism. Due to his controversial beliefs, he was arrested on several occasions and spent many years either in prison or in exile.
