This term is used for someone who is trying via email to convince you that he / she is in trouble, that there is some kind of disease, and that through a kind, even flirting conversation, tries to extract money from you. There are also very interesting cases when it begins with the story of a furious civil war in that country, and that a large amount of gold is deposited in a Federal Reserve Bank in the USA, but because of the war he / she can not come to that gold and ask for your help. Therefore, in order for you to get power of attorney and go to the USA to raise the gold that you will later distribute, you need to send him / her a certain amount of money for this power of attorney. So it starts and then there are various other expenses, and the amount you need to send is bigger and bigger. This is just one of the ways they work, although there are more of them.

The answer is C)
