The correct answer is C. The term 'comedy' in the title of Dante's epic poem The Divine Comedy means THE POEM ENDS HAPPILY.
Dante Alighieri simply called Commedia (Italian word for comedy) his book, because, according to the classical scheme, it could not be a tragedy, since its ending is happy.
The Divine Comedy is considered one of the masterpieces of Italian and universal literature. Dante summarizes in it all the extensive knowledge accumulated over the centuries, from the ancient classics to the medieval world; his religious faith and his moral and philosophical convictions. The style of the work has a rich language full of symbols and frequent references to historical figures and ancient mythology.
