18.87-4.7175=14.1525

The shirt would cost $14.15 with the sale.

As for the jeans, divide the price by three.

55.96/3=18.6533

1/3 of the price of jeans is 18.6533

Now, subtract it to the price

55.96-18.6533=37.3067

The price of the jeans will be $37.30 with the sale.

Add them together:

37.30+14.15=51.45

The jeans and shirt will cost 51.45. Finally subtract it to 60$.

$60-$51.45= $8.55

You'll get $8.55 as change.

So if the shirts are 1/3 off then they are 2/3 of regular price, because 3/3 minus 1/3 = 2/3
