A 105g slab of metal is dropped into a cylinder which has 69.9ml of water in it. The water goes up to 83.3ml with the metal slab in it. What is the density?
Answer: The density of metal is 7.83 g/ml
Solution :
Given, Mass of metal = 105 g
First we have to calculate the volume of sand
Volume of metal = volume of water displaced= (83.3-69.9)=13.4 ml
Now we have to calculate the density of metal.
Formula used :\(Density=\frac{Mass}{Volume}\)
Now put all the given values in this formula, we get the density of metal.
\(Density=\frac{105g}{13.4ml}=7.83g/ml\)
Therefore, the density of metal is 7.83 g/ml
