I'd say A and B. It's not evolution because mutation doesn't occur, this change is coded into the organism's genes, every one of its kind can do it. It must be highly complex, especially since it's hard to comprehend how once a caterpillar turns itself into a liquid it can reform as a completely different-looking butterfly!

Answer:

The correct answers are options (A) "it is a highly complex genetic process" and  (B) "it is completely governed by preexisting genetic information received by the zygote".

Explanation:

Metamorphosis is a highly complex genetic process because it results in the adult animal having characteristics that are very different from the larvae stage. The metamorphosis process involves an hormonal reactivation development that makes dramatic morphological changes. All the hormones and receptors involved in the metamorphosis are completely governed by preexisting genetic information received by the zygote when the animals born.
