For this case we observe that we have:

  • Dependent variable: Distance
  • Independent variable: time

We observed that:

  1. As the time increases, the distance decreases. Therefore, the relationship between the variables is negative.
  2. The relationship between the variables is non-linear because the behavior does not look like a straight line.

Answer:

B. negative association

C. nonlinear association
