Which sentence contains a dangling modifier?

Jerome had a box full of stories that he wrote on his computer under his bed.

He never left home without a small notebook in which he wrote down ideas.

When he read his stories out loud, he always captivated his friends and family.

Answer: Writing a new story every day, a successful career as an author seemed certain.

A modifier is dangling when the object it modifies is not clear stated in the sentence, therefore the sentence is confusing to the reader and it is wrong. In the sentence,  "Writing a new story every day" is the modifier (it describes the action of a person), and the following clause should have the object it modifies, more specifically, it should suggest WHO is the one that writes a new story every day, but it does not. Thus, the object it modifies is not clear.

Some correct sentences:

Writing a new story every day, a successful career as an author seemed certain for me.

As I wrote a new story every day, a successful career as an author seemed certain.
