This answer is correct because the question asks:

"Which of the following is NOT true of note taking?"
_______________________________________________________
Note that some ways of note-taking are more effective than others (especially considering the types of subjects, the nature and level of the classes and how the classes are taught, and individual learning styles).

Additionally, writing down EVERY SINGLE THING one hears or remembers, or making an attempt to, is counterproductive!  One would likely get so lost in every little details that one would not be able to retain any of the important information needed!

That which is not true of note-taking is: D. Although all methods of taking notes are equally effective, it is important to write down every single thing you hear or remember.

It is true that note-taking is an important activity where the most important facts are noted. However, it is not true that every single thing that is said must be noted.
