answer is 5 because (1/3) + (2/3) equal 1 whole and add it to the 3 and 1 where you get the answer of 5
When you the denominator stays the same. You add both numerators from each fraction. You add both Whole numbers together and BAM you have your answer (5) because 3/3 makes a whole number, hoped it helped!
