1) Cross multiply. I personally love cross-multiplication.
\((3) * (32) = x * (8)
96 = 8x\)
2) FLIP the equation.
\(8x = 96\)
3) Divide both sides by 8.
\(\frac{8x}{8} = \frac{96}{8}\)
\(x = 12\)
As you can see, \(x = 12\).
If you're in doubt of this answer simply replace the \(x\) in the equation with \(12\). You should get the same answer as shown in the equation.
