why isn't 14.5% equivalent to the decimal 14.5
\(14.5\%=\frac{14.5}{100}=\frac{145}{1000}=0.145 \\ \\ 0.145 ot= 14.5\)
In order to convert a decimal into a percentage you have to multiply the decimal by 100. If you did that to 14.5 it would end up being 1450%. Or move the decimal point two places to the right.
