The first answer is the last option: commemorative and symbolic. The staff shows that the statue is more commemorative than symbolic, because it is revering Augustus's leadership. It remembers him as a strong leader, which is something more real than symbolic. The second answer is c. leadership. As stated in the first question, the staff signifies leadership. This is because the staff is reminiscent of religious symbolism, specifically of God's authority, meaning that whoever is holding the staff has the authority of God to rule over His people.
