The answer is D: A movie based on a best-selling novel.

A literary adaptation entails adapting a literary source to another genre, medium, or purpose. Although artistic adaptations, in the West, have been around, arguably, since the birth of Epic poetry and Classic Greek tragedies, some of the most renowned adaptations in the history of art have been adaptations for the film industry, in which the latter takes advantage of the reception and public appeal that a work of art already possesses and, in releasing it through the medium of the cinema, profits from it.
