\(7x^2 + 3\) \(x=4\)
A Power
is a short way to represent repeated multiplication. The power includes a base
and an exponent. The base is the number that is multiplied. The exponent is the
number of times the base is multiplied.
Note: The
power of a negative base is positive if the exponent is even, and negative if
the exponent is odd.
\(7(4)^2 + 3\) \(substitute \ 4 \ for \ x\) \(7*16+3\) \(Simplify \ 4^2 \ to \ 16\) \(112+3\) \(=
115\)
