Simple....
you have:
\(5 \frac{2}{5} +2 \frac{10}{13}\)
to convert them into improper fractions:
1.) Take whole numberdenominator
(55=25)
2.) Take what you got...and add the numerator
(25+2=27)
3.) Use the original denominator
\(\frac{27}{5}\)
Do the same to the other one...
2*13=26
26+10=36
\(\frac{36}{13}\)
Now..add...
\(\frac{27}{5} + \frac{36}{13}\)
But..you need a common denominator!
\(\frac{27}{5} * \frac{13}{13}= \frac{351}{65}\)
\(\frac{36}{13} * \frac{5}{5} = \frac{180}{65}\)
Now you can add!
\(\frac{351}{65} + \frac{180}{65} = \frac{531}{65}\)
When simplified....
\(8 \frac{11}{65}\)
Thus, your answer.
