Answer: D) interpretive claims

Explanation: Interpretive claims are view points that explore and assess arguments in an essay. While interpretive claims can be well-versed and be supported by historical evidence, it is considered subjective because the author uses it to express their opinion.

Answer:

D). Interpretive claims.

Explanation:

A historical essay is described as an essay demonstrating claims regarding historical events substantiated by sufficient evidence to provide a wider clarity and understanding to the audience regarding that particular event.

As per the question, 'interpretive claims' are not necessary for a historical essay as such claims reflect the author's opinion or perception regarding the event or subject which is not much required in a historical essay. A historical essay is rather developed around references provided to support the claim and a conclusion based on it(not on the perceptions or opinions of the author). Thus, option D is the correct answer.
