How does natural selection support the theory of evolution?

ANatural selection explains how the changes in life forms that evolve over millions of years take place over shorter periods of time.
BNatural selection explains how certain life forms are able to survive and reproduce after changes in their environmental conditions.
CNatural selection comes from the collection of fossil record data that shows how life forms.

Natural selection is, in short, the fact that not everything survives to reproduce, and organisms that are best suited to their environment are more likely to survive than those that are less suited, and thus more likely to pass on the genes to make more best-suited individuals. So, it provides a short-term mechanism to explain how changes in a species can occur over longer periods of time.

The correct option is B.
Natural selection refers to the process by which living organisms, which are better adapted to their environments survive better than those that are not. The ones that are better suited to their environment always reproduce and give birth to offspring, which possess the same characteristics that made their parents to survive. Evolution on the other hand refers to changes in the heritable characteristics of a specie over a long period of time. The process of natural selection is the main process that brings about evolution. The theory of natural selection explains the mechanism by which favorable genetic variations in the genetic make up of living organisms are preserved.
