create three different drawings showing a number of rectangles and circles in which the ratio of rectangles to circles is 3:1.
Just draw a simple picture of a house or a dog or a person or a building where you have only 3 rectangles and 1 circle, 6 rectangles and 2 circles, 9 and 3, etc. Do this three times and you should be set.
Let
x--------> the number of rectangles in the drawing
y--------> the number of circles in the drawing
r--------> ratio of rectangles to circles
we know that
\(r= \frac{x}{y}\)
\(r= \frac{3}{1}\)
Drawing N 1
see the attached figure N 1
we have
the number of rectangles is equal to \(3\)
\(x=3\)
the number of circles is equal to \(1\)
\(y=1\)
Find the ratio
\(r= \frac{3}{1}\)
Drawing N 2
see the attached figure N 2
we have
the number of rectangles is equal to \(6\)
\(x=6\)
the number of circles is equal to \(2\)
\(y=2\)
Find the ratio
\(r= \frac{6}{2}=\frac{3}{1}\)
Drawing N 3
see the attached figure N 3
we have
the number of rectangles is equal to \(9\)
\(x=9\)
the number of circles is equal to \(3\)
\(y=3\)
Find the ratio
\(r= \frac{9}{3}=\frac{3}{1}\)
