\(3x-7=5x+19\)
First move all the numbers without "x" to one side and move all the numbers with "x" to the other side by adding/subtracting
\(3x-7+7=5x+19+7\)
\(3x=5x+19+7\)
\(3x-5x=5x-5x+19+7\)
\(3x-5x=19+7\)
Simplify
\(-2x=26\)
Divide
\(\frac{-2x}{-2} = \frac{26}{-2}\)
\(x=-13\)
To check your work, plug in the value of x you got back into the original equation
\(3(-13)-7=5(-13)+19\)
\(-39-7=-63+19\)
\(-46=-46\)
Both sides are equal so the answer is right!
