Area formula of a triangle is:
A = \(\frac{1}{2} bh\)
We know the area and the height, so substitute to find the base
A = 70 m²
h = 8.75 m or \(8 \frac{3}{4}\) m (its the same thing)
70 = \(\frac{1}{2}\) × b × 8.75
70 = 4.375b
Divide by 4.375 on either sides to isolate b
\(\frac{70}{4.375} = \frac{4.375b}{4.375}\)
4.375 and 4.375 cancels out
16 m = b
The base of this triangle is 16 m
