This type of writing requires a writer to spend a lot of time on research, on creating and establishing claims and counterclaims and adding the data collected in favor and against the claim the writer is trying to establish as a truth. One of the main issues of an argumentative essay is the way that collected data and research are tied together through links and connectors to the main statement, or the claim. In this particular case, Reiko, the writer of this essay, initiates her paragraph by mentioning her claim, which is that eating fruits and veggies is a good idea and follows it with the proving data.
