During conduction, two substances are in direct contact with one another. When the molecules begin to gain more energy, they move around more and as they bump into one another, energy gets transferred.
During convection, a continuous current (convection current) transfers heat energy through a liquid/gas. The heat rises, and meets cooler areas.
Hope that helped you.
