We use the quadratic formula

x = \(\frac{-b +or- \sqrt{b^{2}-4ac } }{2a}\)

3x² + 12x + 6 = 0
 ║        ║     ║
a=3   b=12 c=6

Plug it in:
\(\frac{-12 +or- \sqrt{12 ^{2} -4(3)(6)} }{2(3)}\)
\(\frac{-12+or- \sqrt{144-72} }{6}\)
\(\frac{-12+or- \sqrt{72} }{6}\)

Solutions:
sol.1=\(\frac{-12+ \sqrt{72} }{6}\)
       = -0.585786
       ≈ -0.6

sol.2 =\(\frac{-12- \sqrt{72} }{6}\)
         = -3.41421
         ≈ -3.4
