Let the Taxes she paid last year be 'x'
So percentage increase = 15% of x
= 15x/100

So,
this year's taxes = Last year's taxes + increment
287.50 = x + 15x/100
287.5 = 115x/100
x = 250

So, she paid $250 as taxes last year.
