The rectangle:
lw=area The length is 12 and the width is 5. So 512=60. The area of the rectangle is 60
The triangle:
lw/2=area The length is 6 and the width is 2. To figure out the width you have to subtract the 5 and 5 from the top dimension. 62/2=6
