The correct answer is (b) Secondary succession
Secondary succession is the phenomenon in which redevelopment of species takes place when the native species of a region dies. In 1988, secondary succession was seen in the Yellowstone Park. The year faced drought conditions because of fire. A large area was burned as a result of forest fire. This fire destroyed a large area of botanical life. Life survived and redeveloped, there was growth of some plant species. Some pine saplings were also seen after the growth of grass, more animals migrated into the forest and the biodiversity started again as a result of secondary succession.
