Yes. When we say that x is proportional to y,  is multiplied by a constant, usually k, and you get y. They vary directly to each other because every x times the same constant will give you y. In this case, the constant is 5.7. So always look for a constant which x is multiplied by to get y. Then you know that x and y are proportional.
